Raised on Resilience, Biko Built for the Runway
Cairo raised him, but creativity built him. Biko’s journey started in a city that taught him how to move with grit and how to create something beautiful out of chaos.
“Growing up in a modest neighborhood taught me that art and fashion could be tools for strength and self-expression,” he says. “It keeps me grounded and inspires me to use creativity to break barriers and tell my story.”
Moments That Changed Everything
For Biko, styling is more than matching fabrics. It is his language and his way of building worlds. “Styling allows me to bring my vision to life exactly as I imagine it, without barriers,” he says.
He often works in solitude, music playing as he sketches ideas until they feel alive. Then he takes them to his family’s clothing factory, transforming concepts into garments. “We go step by step until the idea becomes something I can hold in my hands.”
Rooted in Cairo, Dreaming Beyond
Biko’s world does not stop at Cairo’s edge. “My parents taught me resilience and hard work, inspiring me to stay determined and fight for what I love,” he says. “I have also been deeply influenced by Japanese culture since childhood, and designers like Hidehiko Yamane and Rick Owens shaped how I see style, raw, unexpected and boundary pushing.”
The Future Is Bold
Biko’s dreams are as bold as his style. “I want to collaborate with big brands and bring an authentic Egyptian touch,” he says. “One of my dreams is working with Rick Owens. His bold and unique style always inspires me and pushes me to see fashion differently.”
To young creatives, his message is simple. “Focus on your work and give it time. Always do something different, something outside the box that represents your own vision.”
Every creative has that one moment when everything clicks. For Biko, it came during his first shoot for a small local brand. “When I saw the results, I knew this was where I truly belonged.”
