Growing up in LA, California! I was a theater kid my whole life and loved listening to music at home because my parents introduced me to arabic pop, opera, reggae, and latin. I loved musical theatre and performed, watched, and took acting classes from a young age. Playing piano since age 5, I performed at concerts and school music performances annually. All of these factors shaped my artistic development and love of music.

I learned a 10-minute Broadway medley at a Los Angeles theatre summer camp and sang it every day at home. My piano teacher and I practiced every day after school for piano concerts. I wrote my first song in 4th grade and sang it to my best friends at our first sleepover. I still have it in my diary. There are many more pages of song ideas and lyrics I wrote that year. I always loved music, but I was shy to pursue it and afraid to sing in front of others until I was 17.

Something about music makes me feel like nothing else. The rush, journey, emotion, and visions I see and feel when listening to tracks that resonate with me are magical, and I wanted to recreate that feeling and make others feel it too. I think music is the best way to express myself when words aren't enough. Sound and certain human voice frequencies open my heart and soul. When I feel down and have no way to ground or claim my power, I write, sing, and pour my heart into it.

When writing music, I sometimes prefer writing to existing sounds and beats, and sometimes I write something spontaneously and build on it later! The vision always comes to me when I focus my intention on it, whether in a few minutes or over a few days. I let it flow naturally. I like to find sounds that evoke a “feeling” and play with them, or I might hear a song that inspires me and use it as a reference for my productions.

I feel like my music has a style and touch that is unprecedented in the industry. Ethereal, innovative, heartfelt, and evolving with my journey. People ask me about my inspirations, but I can't pinpoint one. My passion for discovering new sounds and my diverse musical tastes have slowly shaped my ear and musical inspiration. I follow my heart and intuition when creating new things. Sometimes people, sounds, or genres inspire me. I like seeing different perspectives when people compare my music to other artists based on their preferences and biases. My unique visual identity and sound reassure me that I'm on my own path.

I hope to tour with more of my favorite artists and perform in my favorite venues. I want to creatively direct more of my own videos and direct other artists. I want to make more magic with my favorite producers. Consistency in my process and belief in my vision are my innovation steps.

If you love music, pursue it however you want. It can be overwhelming and make you want to quit or doubt yourself. I learned that it's your right to speak your mind and shine your light, and don't worry about being judged—people will anyway. Know yourself and trust it to lead you to your best!
